Beagle Palooza -- Aug 13, 2011

Nice event just for Beagles, here in the Portland area. Chicken BBQ for the humans. Longest ears competition for the dogs along with bobbing for hot dogs and a watermelon eating contest. Roddy won the longest ears competition, he got a medal and I got a fancy T-shirt. Echo entered the watermelon eating contest, finished third -seems he fumbled one of the bites, maybe next year.

Badger Creek Wilderness -- July 31, 2011

Great day for a Sunday Hike. Fairly long hike on a poorly maintained trail, lots of blow down and overgrown with brush. Bit tedious but overall a great day. Hike is on a ridge just east of Mt Hood. Up the Gumjuwac Trail and then down in to the Badger Creek Wilderness.

Stumptown Cluster Dog Show -- July 22 - 24, 2011

Janet and Brew

 TeamBeagle (minus Kevin) came to town for the Beagle Regional Specialty on Friday and the Stumptown Cluster Dog Show on Saturday, Sunday. Brew and Janet took High in Trial in Obedience in the Beagle Specialty as well as earning their Rally Advanced title. Seems they were the only entry in Obedience, but, still, they entered and had a good run - better than all the beagles that stayed home. The Advanced in Rally means doing all exercises off leash and being able to keep control of your Beagle when an bowl of food is sitting four feet away from it's big beagle nose! Well Done.

Was great visiting with David and Lesley from Starbuck Torbay at the show. Here is K2, just an awesome puppy.

Paradise Park Trail -- July 10, 2011

Nice day for a hike on the Paradise Park Trail in the Mt Hood Wilderness. Able to hike up the trail for a couple of hours until heavy snow and blowdown made travel too darn difficult.

Dillon Falls Hike -- July 5, 2011

Spent 4th of July weekend in central Oregon. Visited with good friends and took a couple of hikes, one of which was along the Deschutes River starting near Dillon Falls.


























































Incredible, huge, meadow - amazing that hasn't been turned into a golf course or housing development. Public land open to all...
