Nothing in particular; hiking, biking, skiing, Beagles -- life in general. What I do when not working.

National Beagle Club Specialty - Oct 3 - 8, 2010
The National Beagle Club Specialty was held in Vancouver, WA this October, www.nbcspecialty.com. Very fortunate for us that a national show was held across the river from our hometown. Even more fortunate, we had TeamBeagle in town to show us the ropes, the eventual Trial Champions. See Brew (Starbuck Torbay Full Sail) on the specialty website, 2nd dog down.

Oregon Symphony & Hilary Hahn - Oct 2, 2010
Attended the season opener for the Oregon Symphony on Saturday night, Oct 2. What a great performance. Guest violinist was Hilary Hahn
( http://www.hilaryhahn.com/ ), playing Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto with the symphony. Her playing brings tears to your eyes.
The bright lights of downtown Portland.
Hilary signing autographs, as close as we got.

Three Sisters Wilderness, OR - Sept 25 - 26, 2010
Finally got out for an overnight backpack trip with the MtnDogs. Beautiful sunny weekend. Saturday was great, beyond Echo trying dig a big hole to sleep in at camp rather than laying on the fancy hiking pad we brought along for him. Sunday was a challenge, 7 hours of continuous barking after scenting a single horse just 15 minutes out of camp. Our destination was Linton Meadows on the west side of the Three Sisters in central Oregon, here is a link to google maps with approximate location of our camp. Hike was about 8 miles one way.

Here we are at Frog Camp trailhead, seems like somebody changed the name. A sure sign of getting old, when one has been hiking so long that the names of places change!
A lone rider on a horse passed by at the edge of the meadow, chaos ensued when the MtnDogs got scent of it. Wished I'd gotten a shot of the horse.
Here is the video, just a little sample of Sunday.
